It's Pi Day!!!

We celebrated Pi Day today by eating cookies and Pi Cake.  Even though we all know the area of a circle is pi(r)squared.  We had happy pi written on rectangle cake.  We did find circumference of several circles, discussed the relationship between circumference/diameter, and discovered "real-life" applications of pi.  Don't you just love the journey?  Especially if a little cake is involved!

  1. Hey , I wish I was in your class. I'd remember pi if there was cake involved.

  2. You chose my favorite colors for the cake. How are my friends the sheep doing. Did you name them yet.

  3. Oh, how cool! On my post today, I told everyone to have a slice of pi today, but I don't think anyone picked up on it.

  4. Red - You know as a teacher you try EVERYTHING to pour that knowledge in. A little taste of cake does the trick sometimes! I started to buy them all a Moon Pie cookie but one of the kids wanted to bring this pi cake so...

Susan - Great minds think alike! Hope you enjoyed a piece!

Dottie - Just gotta say girl, you are something else. I knew you'd love those LSU colors!
